Overview:

A very big thank you goes to Amy de la Force, for letting me read an e-ARC of A Crown of Blood and Magick! This is book two in the Fated for Hael romantasy series, and just to give you fair warning: I am head over heels in love with it. So yes, I *will* be fangirling in the review below! But first, let’s give you an overview…

Cahra may have won the battle, but she’s a long way from winning the war. Now the Empress of Hael’stromia, Cahra is still trying to win the alliance of the three kingdoms—but dissent is growing, and the ally she had made in Thierre? He cannot see past his grief to witness the dangers ahead. Bound together by fate, Cahra is relying on Hael for protection… But despite their best efforts, a forbidden attraction is building between them, and it could be the ruin of everything. When Hael is captured, will Cahra be able to find a way to save the immortal? Who is behind the fierce opposition to her rule? Dark magick may soon be the only thing standing between Hael’stromia’s rise or fall…

A Crown of Blood and Magick is such a magical sequel – I’m so sad I’ve run out of pages to read!

Happiness Boost:

I devoured A Crown of Blood and Magick within 24 hours, and honestly? If I hadn’t had to sleep, I would’ve been even quicker than that! This romantasy well and truly kicks up a notch from the first instalment: we get more danger, and oh so much more romance. While this still qualifies as a slow burn glitterbugs, trust me when I say it is the finest dessert you will ever snack on… Because when it hits, it hits just right. I love the communication between Cahra and Hael, their loyalty, but especially their acceptance for everything the other represents.

Amy, you incredible author. The representation of grief being depicted within A Crown of Blood and Magick, particularly how it’s such a unique path for everyone? Yes. Just, yes. This romantasy explores the weight of grief, the substance to it which makes moving forward hard, and how the world keeps turning despite everything. I love that this beautiful story gives us such a reflection. And I absolutely adore witnessing the inner strength of some characters, even as they fight against the current which threatens to drown them.

I want more. Let’s be honest: I want everything. Because when I got to the last page? I wanted to keep going!! This sequel has captured my heart and I love it even more than A Kiss of Hammer and Flame, which is really saying something. I adore our broken heroes, our noble self-sacrificing characters who will give up anything, just for a slim chance to save those they love. Obviously, I could tell you so much more about this book. But really, you should just start running for the ‘add to cart’ button already.

Downside:

Downside?? There’s absolutely no downside here!

Final Thoughts:

A Crown of Blood and Magick by Amy de la Force is a romantasy full of dangerous desires, ancient enemies, and a powerful bond that could change the world. I am so, so glad I have a hardcover headed my way. This is a phenomenal sequel, and I just want to stay in this realm forever. Surely Cahra and Hael would be okay with that, right??
