A huge thank you goes to Victoria J. Price, for letting me read an e-ARC of A Legacy of Secrets! This is a companion novel to the trilogy, A Legacy of Storms and Starlight, and recounts all of the events within the series from the POV of the MMC (Holt). What does this mean for you? You can either read this book as a standalone, or read it right after the original trilogy, so as not to get any spoilers of what happens in the series. And clearly, that makes this a win-win situation! But for now? Let’s give you an overview!

Happiness Boost:
A Legacy of Secrets is the romantasy gift that just keeps giving. Holt is the epitome of a walking green flag MMC, and honestly? We do not get enough of those! This Fae isn’t a brooding, grumpy male who fails to communicate. Instead, he is a tortured hero who will sacrifice himself with no hesitation for those he loves—particularly Zylah. I adore everything about him, and seeing his POV? I couldn’t put this book down! If you’ve loved Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings, with his sweetness and strength of character (plus the ability to yearn like no other), you need to shove every other story aside and dive into this one as soon as possible.
As someone who’s already read and loved A Legacy of Storms and Starlight, I knew I’d enjoy the epic world-building, as well as the plot the twines around your soul as the danger (and your love for these characters) just keeps increasing. But what I didn’t expect? How this incredible instalment could still break my heart into millions of tiny shards. Victoria wrings every drop of emotion out of a reader, and I’m here to say you’ll thank her for it! I was left reeling, aching for our beloved Holt and Zylah, after getting Holt’s perspective on some of the choices he had to make. I made bargains with the bookish deities for their happiness as I read along, even knowing the outcome of the story, because I was so invested!
A Legacy of Secrets contains one of the sweetest, most poignant love stories. This couple and their journey can’t be summed up with just a few tropes. They are worth more than that. I know I did try, with my previous book reviews for the series, but really? Holt and Zylah face every obstacle, every monster, every single moment of hardship that would shatter me, and their strength lies in their ability to trust each other, to hold space and know that love is the answer. Even when the world is on fire, it is love which ensures there’s always something to be salvaged from the ashes.
Downside:
There is no such thing as a downside when it comes to Victoria’s writing.

A Legacy of Secrets by Victoria J. Price is a romantic fantasy full of yearning, broken memories, and a perilous journey for freedom. And with the Kickstarter launching later today? I will be buying every single version I can get, because I love it that much! Holt and Zylah’s story feels like coming home, and I’m so very grateful Victoria gave us one last instalment to this series. It is, without a doubt, perfection.
