“I was the deliverance of eternal wrath.”

K. L. Devore

Confession time: I read A Touch of Gold & Madness by K. L. Devore months ago, but I’m terribly slow at gathering my thoughts for this one! This dark romantic fantasy has held my heart in a tight grip for so long now, I have no idea how I’m going to sum it up. But here’s the thing, glitterbugs… Even though I’m probably not going to be very coherent, this book needs a place on my blog. So without waiting any longer, let’s give you an overview!

As a well-trained assassin, Princess Gray Monroe has been ordered by her father to kill their most notorious nemesis, Prince Griffin. Not only responsible for throwing their entire world into chaos, but also for killing her first love, Gray will stop at nothing to see Griffin brought to account. Yet when she returns to the palace without success, everything soon unravels as someone tries to kill her. Fleeing the palace, can Gray find a safe place from which to plan her next step? And how does this coincide with Prince Griffin’s plan to kill the king? As time runs out, who will be left standing?

I’m in love with Devore’s writing, and you will be too, as soon as you read this book!

Happiness Boost:

Like I said, it’s hard for me to put into words just how much I love A Touch of Gold & Madness. Because what Devore has crafted in this dark romantic fantasy? It’s nothing short of epic. We are immersed in a harsh landscape, a post-apocalyptic world in which nothing is as it seems. And just when you think you’ve encountered some pretty awful villains before? Holy guacamole glitterbugs, the villains in this story blow them out of the water. At *no* point in this fantasy did I want to look up from the page.

Can we talk about how exquisitely Devore has written Gray and Griffin’s characters? I am not going to give away any spoilers, but suffice to say… This slow burn romantasy is going to capture your imagination and your heart. You *will* be left reeling. I know I was! And the trauma they’ve endured, for them to even be able to function?! How?! I adore this duo and honestly, I think we all need to thank Devore for writing this tale. This is magical, in every sense of the word.

I have 500 highlights within my Kindle edition of A Touch of Gold & Madness. If that doesn’t tell you something, nothing will! We get a sweet found family, bonded through trauma and love. We also get enemies to lovers, epic world building and an intricate plot which will leave you screaming at the final pages. I want more. Actually scrap that, I want EVERYTHING. Please and thank you, K. L. Devore!

I’ve loved every second of this dark fantasy, there’s no downside for me!
