True to form, this April 2026 Books Recap will show that my time has largely been spent on a number of side quests, rather than attending to most of my April Book Goals. But none of us are surprised at this point, are we? It’s time for another peek behind the scenes, here at Immersed in Books…

Yes, I’ve read more books than what I’m linking below. *But* are the reviews anywhere to be found? Nope! Your Anne has been in the trenches with other adventures instead. However, what I can tell you, is that the below witchy romantasy ARC is one of my favourite reads of the year. I am head over heels in love with Miranda Lyn’s writing, and you *will* need to get yourself a copy of this exceptional tale!
Like I said in my review, Miranda Lyn doesn’t know how to write a gentle tale. And yes, that’s a compliment! Syneca’s story hit my soul with the force of a thousand bricks, and of course I welcomed it. Hide the Witches is a beautifully intense dark romantasy, and every single step on this journey is fraught with peril… I’m already counting down for book two.
So what have I been doing with my time, instead of writing reviews? Your Anne has been a busy bee, tormenting a read-along crew with short daily chapters for The Shadow Prince (secretly I’m sure they’ve loved it), as well as gearing up for all sorts of incredible celebrations for Kiss of the Black Flame.
So yes, PA Anne is in full work mode, and my book blogger self has taken a back seat. Needless to say, there’s a LOT of very exciting news for Helen Scheuerer fans coming soon! I cannot wait to share all the things with you, but for now? If you pre-order your copy of Kiss of the Black Flame, please do keep proof of your purchase. Something special is in the works…
