My April Book Goals have been patiently waiting to be shared for *days*. But wasn’t it only yesterday that we were in March?! What is going on with 2023? My bookish goals feature a lot of indie fantasy authors this month, and I honestly can’t wait to share their names and books with you!
What’s on the TBR list?
I’ve been a victim of overestimating my time lately… So I’m trying really hard to choose my numbers wisely! But I can’t let it be a month of anything less than 9 books, right? *Cue nervous laughter.* And yes, I can already hear you screaming at me, ‘Don’t do this to yourself, Anne!’ But too late, I’ve done it! So without further ado, here’s my TBR list:
- The Chimera Bounty: Ember Holt
- A Rather Dastardly Death: Anthony Slayton
- Tears of Silver Shadows: Magaidh Dunbroch
- The Unbound Witch: Miranda Lyn
- Slaying the Shadow Prince: Helen Scheuerer
- Flight of a Thousand Embers: P. N. Vang
- A Shadow Bright and Burning: Jessica Cluess
- A Curse So Dark and Lonely: Brigid Kemmerer
- House of Sky and Breath: Sarah J. Maas
Anticipated Releases:
Although there’s only a few anticipated releases in my April Book Goals post, these beauties are truly rich in their storytelling… And do you want more great news? Two of them are already out in the world!
- 3rd: The Sins of an Heir: M. K. Lorber
- 4th: The Ruptured Sky: Jessica A. McMinn
- 18th: The Chimera Bounty: Ember Holt
- 18th: A Legacy of Poison and Lies: Victoria J. Price

Can April get any better? Yes, yes it can… Because I’ve actually already read two of these amazing stories and can tell you all about them!
So if you love dark fantasy, with grimdark deliciousness on every page? Look no further than The Ruptured Sky, and check out my review here. Or if you want NA fantasy with troubled hearts and overwhelming odds? A Legacy of Poison and Lies by Victoria J. Price is *essential* reading for you, and you can read a review by yours truly here! Seriously. These two indie authors are immediate one-click buys for me.
Happy reading, glitterbugs! I hope you achieve all of your own April Book Goals, and I’m sure we’ll talk soon…
