April Books RECAP

April Books Recap features the cover images of 5 books over a textured grey background. The Chimera Bounty by Ember Holt, Tears of Silver Shadows by Magaidh Dunbroch, A Rather Dastardly Death by Anthony Slayton, The Unbound Witch by Miranda Lyn, Slaying the Shadow Prince by Helen Scheuerer.

This April Books Recap features so many wonderful authors (many of them indie), so I don’t feel *too* bad that I didn’t finish two of the books from my April Book Goals! Of course these tales are pretty much all fantasy, but a sneaky (and exceptionally well written) murder mystery has also popped up in my April reads. So if you can’t find something to love here, you’re in the wrong place!

Love fantasy? High stakes? Deadly magic? My April Books Recap has you covered!

With a ratio of seven indies to one traditionally published author, I think it’s fair to say the indie authors are winning my heart these days! But who wouldn’t love them, when we’re given such exquisite and masterful storytelling in their tales? The only one that turned out to be a personal disappointment is the grimdark fantasy Tears of Silver Shadows, but you’ll be able to read that review via my Goodreads profile… So without further ado, here’s some book review goodness:

The Chimera Bounty: Ember Holt

Tears of Silver Shadows: Magaidh Dunbroch

A Rather Dastardly Death: Anthony Slayton

The Unbound Witch: Miranda Lyn

Slaying the Shadow Prince: Helen Scheuerer

Flight of a Thousand Embers: P. N. Vang

A Forgotten Past: Tiffany Lafleur

A Shadow Bright and Burning: Jessica Cluess

And the April Favourite Read Goes To…

Slaying the Shadow Prince by Helen Scheuerer! I apologise to all of the authors who go up against a new Helen Scheuerer book in any given month, because Helen really is the Queen of Fantasy in my eyes. And with this recent foray into fantasy romance/romantasy? There’s even more to love about her writing! Slaying the Shadow Prince delves into the darkest realm, full of terror and sorrow. And with a tiny flickering flame of hope come to life amongst the shadows, it’s no wonder that readers are going to fall under the spell of this standalone NA fantasy romance. I honestly can’t fangirl enough about it! You can pre-order it here.

And that’s a wrap, glitterbugs!

Happy reading, dear bookworms. And stay tuned for more reviews in May…
