A very big thank you goes to Emily Blackwood, for letting me read an e-ARC of Beg The Night! This dark romantasy is just the beginning of the Mystics of Ashora series, and already I’m aching for book two… So if that hasn’t already told you everything you need to know? Let’s give you an overview!

Happiness Boost:
Beg The Night is a dark romantic fantasy designed to haunt you. As if it isn’t already a hard thing, to live with the grief Athena does? Emily decides to place our heroine amongst desperate villains, as well as morally grey characters who can’t afford to have compassion. Tell me that’s something you wouldn’t love to read?! My heart is *so* bruised from this experience, but I am so grateful to have this tale of hard choices and terrible mistakes. I need a physical copy. I just do.
Glitterbugs, I highlighted so much of this romantasy on my Kindle, we’d be here all day if I shared everything I love. And just when I thought every surprise had surfaced? Mic. Drop. Moment. Emily won’t just take your heart hostage, she will tear it into confetti and have you struggling to breathe as you desperately turn another page. I adore Athena and Sinner, both as individuals and their desire to do good for a shared cause. In fact it’s their commitment to this cause which gives us a light to follow amongst the darkness.
Listen. When you’re lying on the floor, questioning why you wanted to read something which hits the heart this powerfully? Just know that I’m with you. In fact I was you. And I couldn’t be happier for it. Emily doesn’t give her readers a soft landing in her stories. Instead, she throws us into a pit of heartache and chaos, while happily eating popcorn on a viewing platform. Or that could just be my imagination. But either way, Beg The Night is a dark romantasy which tugs you into the eye of the storm and tells you to hold on. And oh my goodness am I glad I did.
Downside:
Aside from desperately wishing for book two, there’s no downside here! And really, that’s just the sign of a good book, right?
