“Things are happening in this kingdom that people don’t like to talk about.”
Jamie Dalton
Overview:
A big thank you goes to indie author Jamie Dalton for letting me read an e-ARC of Bound by Honey, a fantasy romance novella which is every bit as sweet as its title! Although this is book eleven in the Starry Kingdoms of the Fae series, as a collection of standalone tales there’s actually no need to read the other books. Having said that, if they’re as good as this one? I can definitely be tempted! But without further ado, let’s tell you about this cosy fantasy…
Sage loves working in the royal library, a place which houses both magic and a gargoyle with a sense of humour (named Freddy). But when the Charming Four walk through the doors, Sage’s life is turned upside down. Prince Finn is cursed and Sage might be the only one who can locate a cure… But is it possible for her to find answers without leaving her cosy life behind? Can someone so scared of adventure drop everything for this impossible quest? And will there be a happily ever after, with Finn’s brother planning something devastating?

Happiness Boost:
I’m sure most of us bookworms fall in love with the libraries we visit, but imagine if it came with magical tomes and a gargoyle who enjoys being a trickster? Bound by Honey is the *perfect* novella for anyone who wants to enjoy a Beauty and the Beast vibe, in a new and exciting world. I kept wishing I could actually dive into the pages and walk around the library with Sage, it just seems like the perfect place to escape!
Jamie gives us sweet humour in this fantasy romance, as well as some wonderfully outrageous stunts. Featuring enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, dragons and found family, Bound by Honey has something for all of us! I couldn’t put it down, it’s just what I needed!
Do you know why I put my hand up so quickly for this ARC? Because I needed a palate cleanser, after getting into so many darker fantasies lately. And Bound by Honey more than delivered! We’re given a light, comforting read which positively sparkles with magic and heart.
Downside:
No downside to this sweet fantasy romance… I know it could easily be a full-sized novel, but I enjoyed it as a novella!
