Bookworms, I have a confession to make… My December 2024 Books Recap did terribly at keeping to my December Book Goals. And I can hear it even now: how did you muck this up, Anne? You only had four books on the list!
Here’s the thing though: three were physical books. And it sounds so very ridiculous, but when I’m reading a physical book with the intent to review? I’m taking photos of so many passages and quotes with my phone, before I then have to collate it, pick out moments, yada yada yada. Tiring, right? I know. So that’s why only one book from my goals actually got finished. But with that said, what *did* I read? Let’s find out!

If I had to pick a favourite out of these gorgeous stories? I honestly can’t look past By the Sharp and Shadowed Wings, but it’s the *tightest* of calls for this month! I’m talking the width of a cat’s whisker, separating my love for these books.
Goodbye, 2024…
Normally I’d choose a favourite read of the year, but this time around? My heart is all kinds of tangled, so I’m not even going to attempt it in my December 2024 Books Recap. There’s just too many good books out in the world glitterbugs, and it feels harsh to nominate just one as a favourite!
As you can see from the image above, it’s been an interesting kind of year! And this wouldn’t be a snapshot of 2024 without including the floofs (George and Lucy) in the picture. Because of course, as any pet owner will tell you, I live for them. 2024 saw me expand my author PA duties, dive into phenomenal ARCs, and finally meet author friends in person. But even bigger than all of that? This was the year I went back under the knife to battle adenomyosis and endometriosis. I’m well aware that having a hysterectomy isn’t for everyone (particularly as it doesn’t cure endometriosis), but it’s worked wonders for me so far! My pain levels are practically non-existent, and I’m now able to plan adventures without stressing about my body’s capacity to do things. I have no idea what 2025 will bring, but goodness I hope it’s full of positivity and fun!
