For this month, my December Books Recap held true to my December Book Goals, in that I was gentle with myself and only read the ARCs on my TBR. I didn’t push myself to do any more than that, because the loss of a friend and the festive season took precedence. But did I still get to read some wonderful stories? I sure did! So let’s talk about those, shall we?

And if I had to pick a favourite out of these four stories? It would have to go to the YA fantasy The Cursed Soul by indie author K. C. Smith, as it features a haunting tale of curses, forbidden magic and a dangerous adventure which demands the ultimate sacrifice. How could anyone not love that?!
And the 2023 Favourite Read Goes To…
Just like I couldn’t choose between these two for my August Books Recap post, I have to declare a tie for the 2023 favourite read in my December Books Recap! Helen Scheuerer’s Vows & Ruins and Nisha J. Tuli’s Heart of Night and Fire are both rich in magic, featuring intense and forbidden love, as well as deadly evils which threaten to break the realm. There’s so many other authors and stories I’ve loved this year, but I can’t go past these two. They have my heart and soul, and if you try nothing else that I’ve recommended this year? Try these books!
Goodbye, 2023…
Just like last year, thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming along this bookish adventure with me, dear glitterbugs. It’s been such a fun journey, and I think I’ve found my calling in becoming an author’s PA – which would never have been possible if I hadn’t taken the leap to do this blog! Trust me, my self-confidence needed this kind of boost before I felt like I could put my hand up, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done! And for those who were witness to the frantic rollercoaster I went on with my floof’s hyperthyroidism earlier this year? Let’s just say I hope 2024 doesn’t make another road trip a necessity for either of my cats… Although there is major surgery in my future, come September. But that’s for Future Anne to worry about!
