It took me so long to dive into Fate of the Sun King by Nisha J. Tuli, purely because I’m a coward and know she likes to pull at the heartstrings! If you haven’t read my reviews for the previous books in this series, you can do so here before going any further. Now without further ado, let’s give you an overview for this epic third instalment in The Artefacts of Ouranos!
Against everything, Lor has survived. But now that ancient secrets are unravelling and enemies are closing in? Nowhere is safe, least of all the one place Lor needs to get to. Because with the Heart Crown and Lor finally united, she must go into enemy territory for the next part of her quest. Happiness Boost:
There’s so very many things I love about Nisha’s writing in this series. But the resilience of Lor? It has to be one of my favourite aspects. Lor has had to battle her way through a *lot*, including complex trauma. But no matter what, this incredible heroine doesn’t let it turn her away from her siblings, or indeed from any of those whom she’s come to love. Yes it makes sense that she’s not let this cut away at her soul, as she’s the rightful Heart Queen. But let’s be honest, it would be understandable if this trauma created a fragile, selfish character. But with Lor? Not in a million years. I completely adore her.
Fate of the Sun King is all about shedding light on ancient secrets, terrible actions and the consequences which are now impacting the realm. I was absolutely riveted to the pages, and can I tell you something? While it can be tricky to flip between present day and the past, when it’s done right… Holy guacamole, glitterbugs. All I could think was that I needed more! More of Lor and Nadir, but also more of these haunting events from days gone by. I want to burrow so deeply into this story… Seriously Nisha, please tell me *everything*. That’s not too much to ask, right?! I’ll just be waiting by the Instagram DMs, please and thank you!
This fantasy romance is one which will drag you further and further into the darkness, never giving you a moment’s respite until the very last page. And even then? I may have had to send a very dramatic and emoji-filled DM to a friend about it. I was *not* okay! For a story of enemies to lovers, deadly magic and massive heartache? This beautiful book (and series) is seriously one you need! Have I purposefully kept this review as vague as possible? Absolutely, because I hate to reveal spoilers! But seriously… Get. This. Series.
Downside:
Aside from ripping my heart out at the end? I have no downside! And truthfully that’s not a downside either, just a side effect of my being a reader who gets too invested in the stories I read.

Fate of the Sun King by Nisha J. Tuli is a fantasy romance teeming with deadly magic, fated mates and one truly epic showdown. I’m loving every single second of this series, and am on my hands and knees *begging* you to read it if you haven’t already done so! Trust me, would I lead you astray?
