My wonderful soul cat, George, crossed the rainbow bridge early this month.
And the February Favourite Read Goes To…
As you will have guessed from the image above, I was desperate for an escape into other worlds this month. George was my little guardian, and it’s fairly safe to say that he helped save me when grief and illness tried to shatter me. I’m forever grateful that we had almost twelve years together, and we’re still trying to find our feet since his passing.
Every single story I read this February helped get me through what felt like the longest month. But if I had to say a favourite? The Amber Owl by Juliet Marillier. In this historical fantasy, Juliet masterfully reminds us of the power of stories. They have such a magic about them, and can help even the most disheartened of spirits. They represent hope and love, grit and courage. We are the better for stories, and Stasya’s is a powerful one. So please add this tale to your TBR. It is a tale of the heart, and I’m in love with it.
