Somebody looked up and suddenly realised we’re already five days into August, before I’ve even published my July 2025 Books Recap. As Taylor Swift sings: Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem, it’s me. I didn’t mean to fall so far behind, especially as I truly only have one book review to show you. Is that a spoiler? Oops. But I’m finally here glitterbugs, so let’s talk all things July!

Behind the scenes, July was nearly as chaotic as it can get. I’m talking multiple vet visits with little Lu, family adventures, and all sorts of shenanigans. Thankfully, I only promised to read one ARC during July, because there really wasn’t any time to do more. Not if I wanted to retain my sanity (and I kind of like that, so of course I want to keep it). So let’s share the link with you for my July review…
July was also the month I once again fell in love with a dragon by Dirty Paws Australia (seriously, how could I not), so Isa came home to be with the rest of her kin. But who could resist this beauty, am I right?! I am hoping August will be a little less chaotic overall, but I’m learning it’s wiser to never poke the bear. Is that a reference to Torj Elderbrock, the wonderful MMC from Thorns & Fire by Helen Scheuerer? Maybe…
And the July Favourite Read Goes To…
For my July 2025 Books Recap, of course it’s going to be Anne Mollova’s Seer of Strands. In all likelihood, it would’ve been anyway—this YA fantasy finale was everything I was hoping for and I adored every moment of it!
Seer of Strands is a YA fantasy full of broken hearts, devastating choices and a resilient hope that flies in the face of fate. Am I a fan? You better believe I am! Anne has crafted such an epic finale with this ensemble cast, with every character getting their time in the spotlight. New foes arise, and the Trianid must pivot to face what could be their most challenging enemy yet. You can see my full review via the link above, but let’s just say it is *so* worth diving into if you love this genre.
