June Books RECAP

June Books Recap features 7 cover images of books. Top row (L to R): The Ruins of the Heartless Fae by Maham Fatemi, The Rogue Crown by A. K. Mulford, The Starlite Heist by Ember Holt. Bottom row: North Queen by Nicola Tyche, The Call of the Sea by Kate Schumacher, Bound by Honey by Jamie Dalton, Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson.

A June Books Recap wouldn’t be complete without me falling short of my June Book Goals… But that’s to be expected, right? In this case, it really is! My ginger floof (George) went in for radiation treatment in early June to cure his feline hyperthyroidism, and I’d underestimated just how time-consuming that would be. But so far he’s bouncing back, so I’m calling that a massive win! And although not everything from my book goals post was read, you can check out which books came off my never-ending TBR list below!

June Books Recap features an image of a steaming cuppa, a couple of sugar cubes and a milk jug on a blanket, with an open book and a rose in the background.
Getting comfy (& cosy) with a blanket and a cuppa while reading… Perfection!

There are seven gorgeous books coming off my TBR list, all of which are in the fantasy genre! Is it the best genre? Yes, yes it is! And although my June Books Recap won’t feature The Cloisters by Katy Hays, I am halfway through it and really enjoying the spooky vibe it’s giving me. But without further ado, here’s some book review goodness for the tales I’ve loved this month:

The Ruins of the Heartless Fae: Maham Fatemi

The Rogue Crown: A. K. Mulford

The Starlite Heist: Ember Holt

North Queen: Nicola Tyche

The Call of the Sea: Kate Schumacher

Bound by Honey: Jamie Dalton

Mysteries of Thorn Manor: Margaret Rogerson

And the June Favourite Read Goes To…

All of these books deserve to be named a favourite. But Kate Schumacher’s The Call of the Sea has to be my number one June read! This is truly an *epic* romantic fantasy, of Arthurian legends and extraordinary magic. Not only is it a story of reluctant, uncertain heroes, but it’s also a love letter to the power of nature. And it’s a big call, but The Call of the Sea is now my favourite Arthurian tale. Still not convinced? Click the link above to check out my full review!

And that’s a wrap, glitterbugs!

Happy reading, dear bookworms. And stay tuned for more reviews in July…
