I dived into this beauty last year, but I admit life has been lifing hard – so today’s the first chance I’ve had to finally sit down and fangirl with you about it. Are you ready? Happiness Boost:
Listen, if you’re going to give me winged horses in a story? I’m automatically going to be one very happy bookworm! But above all? This romantic fantasy is a call for justice, for a reckoning, when there has been none for those living within Selencia. Leina refuses to let those in power continue to sit comfortably on their thrones, and I am *so* in love with it. This, my dear glitterbugs, is a tale with a beating heart. And it beats for those who need hope—and I don’t just mean the characters within Kissed by the Gods.
Caty weaves so many strands within this romantic fantasy, to lead you down a path of heartache and peril. And yes, that is absolutely a happiness boost in my eyes! I adore how there are red herrings within this story, and the epic plot twists which just keep coming. Add to all of this some delicious tropes like forbidden romance, a one tent situation, and a woman in a man’s world? Trust me, you’re going to devour this story in a day. You won’t want to do anything but read it!
And let’s talk about the magic system, shall we? The draegoth and Kher’zenn, the fact that there’s such a thing as god-chosen, plus different affinities for the Altor? This was a kaleidoscope of colours and I was positively basking in it… Because this is an exploration of magic at its best, when it’s just as riveting as it is easy to understand. Add to that the faravar, and the veil between realms? Glitterbugs, trust me. You need this story in your hands as soon as humanly possible.
Downside:
I have no downside with this beautiful book, it’s amazing!

Kissed by the Gods by Caty Rogan is an exquisite romantasy, full of forbidden romance, epic dangers, and winged horses. I am a huge fan, and of *course* I’m going to be grabbing a physical copy of this tale! Please note that the cover will likely change to what’s shown in my images, as this beautiful book is getting a trad glow-up this year. But that’s definitely not a downside in my eyes—a trad deal means this gorgeous tale will find an even bigger audience, and that’s a great thing!
