May Books RECAP

May Books Recap - images of 8 books which were read this month. Top row (L to R): Dawn of Chaos - Tiffany Lafleur, Epic of Helinthia - MJ Pankey, Conspirator - Ella Pyne, A Court of Greed and Excess - Zara Dusk. Bottom row: Neverscape - Kevin Cox, Blossom and Bone - Mary E. Jung, Stolen Threadwitch Bride - Clare Sager, A Curse So Dark and Lonely - Brigid Kemmerer.

Glitterbugs, I’m going to level with you. My May Books Recap doesn’t quite stack up to the hefty May Book Goals post I did at the beginning of the month. I’d planned everything out to the most exacting detail… But forgot that with a sick cat, the best laid plans can go awry. It probably also explains why I’m writing this post for you in June, doesn’t it? But never fear, because there are still some exceptional stories for me to fangirl over with you!

A May Books Recap isn't complete without fantasy - hence the image of an old book on a wooden table, with a gold crown perched atop it.
A May Books Recap isn’t complete without a little bit of magic…

It’s a small (but mighty) list of amazing stories for my May Books Recap, including a magnificent historical fantasy and a very cosy murder mystery! How could anyone not love reading tales like these?! If any of the stories below sound appealing, make sure to click their links for my full review. I promise you’re in good hands. So without further ado, here’s some book review goodness:

Dawn of Chaos: Tiffany Lafleur

Epic of Helinthia: MJ Pankey

Conspirator: Ella Pyne

A Court of Greed and Excess: Zara Dusk

Neverscape: Kevin Cox

Blossom and Bone: Mary E. Jung

A Curse So Dark and Lonely: Brigid Kemmerer

Stolen Threadwitch Bride: Clare Sager

And the May Favourite Read Goes To…

Well this is a tricky choice to make… But it always is when it comes down to choosing a favourite! As much as I have really loved every single one of these beautiful and mesmerising tales, the May favourite has to be MJ Pankey’s Epic of Helinthia. Myths and legends abound in Pankey’s debut novel, as this fantasy features Olympians, nymphs and the fickle fates which rule the populace. I said it in my review and I’ll say it again: Pankey has given us one of the richest narratives in terms of mythology, and it’s *really* hard to contain my excitement. So why even try, right?!

And that’s a wrap, glitterbugs!

Happy reading, dear bookworms. And stay tuned for more reviews in June…
