A huge thank you goes to Miranda Lyn for letting me read an e-ARC of her latest romantasy, Nevermore! This is book two in a series of interconnected standalones, so you don’t have to read Till Death before diving into this one. Should you read it anyway? Well it’s a Miranda Lyn story, so of course I’ll tell you yes. But without any further ado, let’s give you an overview for this new tale!
Paesha Vox knows better than to make a bargain with a god, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Because if she doesn’t? The realms will fall. Happiness Boost:
Nevermore is a dark romantasy of desperate bargains, shattered hearts and the indestructible will to keep going. I am so in love with how Miranda tugs at the soul with her ability to weave a binding spell of love, loss and difficult choices. I expected great things, but this? This romantasy is more than that. It is, for me, a flawless creation. And the fact that our beloved Paesha never considers herself a hero? Let me save you time by telling you she needs to be in your top 5 FMCs right now; Paesha is phenomenal.
Within Nevermore, we’re treated to some wonderful Robin Hood vibes. It’s been a long time since I came across this in a story, and Miranda’s done it so well! This is a world of Silks vs Salts, where only a select few can switch between the two classes like a chameleon. With a corrupt power determined to grind the downtrodden into dust, it’s up to the Lord of the Salt and their followers to turn the tide. I’m a huge fan of the underdog, and this is a timely reminder that every voice matters. Evil shouldn’t be allowed to rest. It shouldn’t go unchecked. And within this romantasy? This thread of the story felt like I was being gifted oxygen at a time when it’s hard to breathe.
Miranda doesn’t know how to write anything less than a perfect romantic fantasy. Which is why this is just the first book in Paesha’s story—our incredible heroine needed two books for her journey (you can pre-order Evermore here). And honestly? I’m absolutely ecstatic that we get to linger with Paesha a little longer. This woman is so many things, I could spend an eternity with her and it wouldn’t be long enough. There are some stories, some characters, which you can leave behind after you close the book. I don’t think it’s possible for me to do this with Paesha Vox. She is unforgettable.
Downside:
It’s impossible to have a downside when it comes to Miranda’s writing.
Final Thoughts:
Nevermore by Miranda Lyn is an incredible dark romantasy full of meddling gods, difficult choices and a desperate desire for home.
