But I didn’t realise when I began this epic fantasy romance that I was about to lose my heart once again to an exceptional story. Gather close, dear Diem and Luther. Happiness Boost:
Spark of the Everflame is such a rich, decadent story in terms of plot and character development! There’s so much mystery surrounding Diem’s heritage and her mother’s disappearance, and I love how Penn gives us a trail of breadcrumbs to follow. At no point do we feel safe in this fantasy romance, because you can feel the tension rising with every turn of the page. I love this feeling of danger, the knowledge that not all is as it seems! How could that be anything but a happiness boost for me?!
Diem, you beautifully broken young woman. Full of rage, fear and so many questions, Diem is determined to find answers. If that means taking on those more powerful than her? Bring it on. She will go up against anyone, including Prince Luther, and not bat an eye. I’m telling you, if you’re in trouble? You want Diem to be the one fighting for you! Yes she makes some mistakes, and those mistakes are quite costly. But I love that she learns and grows over time. Diem just doesn’t ever stop fighting for a better world. Isn’t that what we all want??
Oh glitterbugs… I see now why Spark of the Everflame has been recommended to me so many times! And now I’m just thanking past Anne for buying physical copies of this series, long before I ever read it. Penn Cole’s writing is flawless, and it is a siren’s song luring me into a new realm. I’m not even trying to turn back. Honestly just take me, I’m yours! Diem, Luther and this wonderful cast of characters have found their way into my heart and I’m just so, so thankful that there’s stories like this one out in the world.
Downside:
There’s no downside for this incredible tale!
