This dark romantasy is book one in a new series (Weatherstone College) and I could not look away from the adventure within these pages. Dare I say it, I actually love it just as much as Shadow Beast Shifters… I know, that’s a really big call. But I’m standing by it! Now before I fangirl too much more, let’s give you an overview, shall we?

Happiness Boost:
Oh my goodness glitterbugs, where do I even begin with Spellcaster?! Jaymin *knows* how to deliver a riveting story, full of angst, found family and a snarky humour that is honestly unparalleled. Add to that the slow burn, forbidden romance aspect? This romantasy is going to delight bookworms everywhere. I adore Jaymin’s ability to make us feel for every character we come across. And I cannot overstate just how much I love the ever-increasing tension as we turn each new page, ready to battle whatever comes for this FMC.
One of the most adorable things you’ll find within this romantasy? Is how protective Paisley’s family are of her, even as they allow her to spread her wings and figure things out. And one of the spookiest things? The history behind why Weatherstone is built where it is: on a mass graveyard. So clearly, Jaymin blends comfort and horror seamlessly within Spellcaster! And with so many secrets just brimming under the surface… Is it any wonder I was turning pages like a madwoman, desperate to know everything?
I could go on for days, or even months, about why I love Spellcaster as much as I do. But at the heart of it all? I love the relationship between Paisley and Logan. Their push and pull, their secrets that are just out of reach, the protective energies they have towards each other, even as a blood oath lingers ominously in the background? This isn’t a rollercoaster. It’s a cliff face, and you’re about to use a hang glider for the first time. You *will* feel the biggest twist of anticipation, fear and excitement as you dive into this story—I’m definitely a huge fan!
Downside:
There is absolutely no downside to Spellcaster, I love it!
