But you probably want more than just that one sentence for a review, right? So let’s give you an overview of this beauty!
On the run from the Aurora King once more, all of Lor’s plans have fallen apart and she’s now left reeling from a terrible mistake. But if she’s to right her wrongs? Lor needs to embrace every part of her powers, no matter how deadly. A new enemy has arisen, and the rightful Queen of Heart is the only one who can save Ouranos. Can Lor survive the trials ahead, in her quest to save both Nadir and the continent? Or will she let the world burn as her anger and despair grows? The Underworld doesn’t suffer the living, but Lor isn’t giving up without a fight.
Happiness Boost:
Tale of the Heart Queen is a fantasy romance which careens us from one terrifying moment to the next. Of course that’s a good thing! The plot within this finale is intricate without being cumbersome, and gives every beloved character a chance to shine. I’d actually say this is a true ensemble cast, because even as we focus on Lor and Nadir? There’s so much more at play within Ouranos, and we get to witness that thanks to the full cast of characters!
Lor has had so much to contend with, not least her fear that her actions would be repeating the mistakes of the past, by her grandmother Serce. I adore how Nisha weaves the past and present together, effortlessly raising the stakes *and* the tension! Past events have such an impact on the present, and the way that Lor must navigate what’s ahead? I’m honestly in awe, because Lor doesn’t even hesitate to give up everything in order to save those she loves best. And let me tell you, some of the sacrifices she has to make?! Nisha! My heart has been absolutely shredded (but in the best possible way).
I am, as always, being deliberately vague in this review. But when I tell you Nisha hit it out of the park, giving us a thrilling, phenomenally good finale with Tale of the Heart Queen? That’s really all you need to know if you’re a romantasy reader! The Artefacts of Ouranos is a must read series. Featuring high stakes, enemies to lovers, deadly trials and *so* much more… I love this. And I’m just grateful I have a signed bookplate ready to go, for when a physical copy of this gorgeous book finally arrives here at home!
