“Love is the most dangerous game of all.”

Daniela A. Mera

Overview:

A huge thank you goes to Daniela A. Mera for letting me read an e-ARC of The Stones of Fate! This is a new adult fantasy romance novella, and part of a wonderful series of standalones by different authors. So what’s in store for you with this second instalment in the Bound By Shadows series? I’m so glad you asked, glitterbugs…

Liana has waited over a decade for answers from The Living Shadow, an assassin elf who wields shadows like no other. Having completely destroyed her village so many years ago with his power, it’s galling that it is only this elf who can tell her what happened to her parents. Will Liana bring down The Living Shadow once he gives her an answer, just as she planned? Or is there more at work in this wake of devastation than first meets the eye? Could there be a beating heart underneath the shadows, just waiting for someone like Liana to look beyond their fear?

The Stones of Fate has been a joyous, captivating read!

Happiness Boost:

I absolutely *love* when we get a tale of shadowy assassins and secrets… And let me tell you, The Stones of Fate well and truly delivers on both! Even better? When dreams and reality merge and give you some extra special dollops of happiness. I’m being deliberately vague because I would hate to spoil anything for you, but this novella is *glorious*. Did I wish for more pages? Of course I did! But it is honestly the perfect amount for a mini escape from the world.

The Stones of Fate is full of mystery, devastation and oh so much heart that it gave me chills from beginning to end! Add to that a bargain made between enemies? Ah glitterbugs… What. A. Read. We even get a found family I would protect with my life within just 88 pages. Tell me how it could get any better?! Spoiler: it can’t. Because this is already the best.

Downside:

Once I find a story I like, I *always* wish it could be longer. But let’s be clear, that’s not a true downside is it? It’s just a sign that I love Daniela’s writing!

Final Thoughts:

The Stones of Fate by Daniela A. Mera is a fantasy romance novella full of shadows, unlikely friends and a desperate quest. Needless to say, I’m now a huge fan of Daniela and will be adding everything she writes to my TBR. Nothing wrong with that, right?! Love what you’ve heard from my review?
